Exams >< ALMOST OVER. ALMOST. Took my costume test and stage makeup tests already. So far this semester my schedule is get up early, school, maybe have time for lunch, work, study/homework, sleep, repeat. And during the shows, it's this: Up, school, work, show till 11:30pm, sleep, somehow magically do homework. And in that order, as in NO time for hanging out and stuff. So to everyone who may feel left out or like I don't love you anymore D: It's not the case! I have to salvage what free time I have for cleaning my house! I'll do better!! I miss everyone!! There are so many people I haven't gotten back to so please forgive me. I seriously haven't had a moment to breathe. (MAINLY APPOLOGIES TO KYO AND VICKY XD ::COUGH COUGH HINT HINT:: )

Needless to say, I will be so so so freaking happy and thankful for this Christmas break.

The more I continue through the costuming program, the more I look forward to my graduation. Working on drama productions in theaters is amazing, but completing my dream by working with action, historical, sci-fi and fantasy movies/TV is top priority... at least in my mind. I'll be eligible for a portfolio review next semester... and hopefully I'll get to go to a convention for design and production majors (in Florida) that will allow me the opportunity to get some nifty connections.

I am dorking it out this week, I tell you! (in case you haven't noticed)  Because why? I want to make more costumes (No freaking way?!?!).

My Star Trek side wants out, so I'll satisfy that by putting some work into making a mobile holoemiter. (contact me if you want to do a group :D You know you do!).  But I've been wanting to do something Marvel for a while. I'm not Marvel crazed, but there are those characters and stories I like. I've considered the new version of Jubilee before (the red and yellow suit), so I may tackle my fear of stretch vynil, do my best not to make any mistakes, and go for that. I need the practice and the experience, so I'll readily accept it.

As far away as it is, I need to decide soon. Money is tight, and the economy doesn't show any sign of getting better by then. Not to mention I just need the time to make things. I'm not worried about the EMH costume though, since it's a standard Starfleet unfirom. I'm just a perfectionist now-a-days and I refuse to make a crapy, half hearted mobile emiter. I am not typically the best with props, but I refuse to give less than my best effort on this. I am obviously excited about it though.

I keep getting that way over sewing lately, I think it's a good thing, isn't it?

And yes, it does seem like I keep landing on this song when it's used for characters I simply adore like. And although it doesn't fit the Doctor as well as it fits Mao (personal opinion), the music video was well made.

Katsucon, I plan to freeze my bum off. I mean seriously. It'll be gone. Why? Because this is my list of possible and confirmed costumes:

Obviously I'm not going to finish all of these costumes. But this is my desired list between Animazement and Katsu. What isn't done by Katsu will be planned for AZ.

I haven't really gotten into any new series that really make me want to cosplay from them.

She just told me: "Well, I'm sorry about not getting you a bedroom suit... and I felt bad soo..... I got you something else."

I was all " O-o; It's okay. But... what??"

She then told me "But you'll have to carry it in." After a moment of sceptical hesitation I stepped outside and saw a tall box that said "SINGER" on it.... I started to get excited, but didn't want to jump to conclusions...

I asked her... "Does that really say SINGER or is that just the box...." (You know how people wrap things in different boxes!) I took a step around to the front of the box and it was a DRESS FORM!!!!!!! HECK FREAKING YES!!!!!!!!!!!!! I didn't even touch the box before I turned around and gave her a ginormous hug of teary-awesomeness. ;_; I need one sooooo bad now that I'm taking my costume design classes, and as soon as I get home from work tonight I'm going to drape my Penelo costume on it and start working on that again. I feel it'll be much easier to make costumes without a pattern now (because seriously, you cosplayers know, that some costumes will never have a "similar pattern.) ;_; I HUGGED THE DRESS FORM TOO.

But I love it.

Being able to help the actors and let them know they can depend on me if for their costume needs... yeah, I really like it. And the headset I get to wear does help a little.

Now, my dressing room as the 3 male leads ( 1 real "lead", and two other important characters) So I try to stay out of their way... considering the room is barely large enough to fit them in it. Much less me trying to help them get into something for the next scene.

But thank God for casseroles. Why? Because I can't really live this week, I just have to make sure I'm functioning properly until the last night of the show. And casseroles are great because... you can't (usually) eat them all at once, they can be heated up and eaten for days. @_@

Now it's 20 'till 2am and I have to get up at eight and I won't be back until about 12-1am Weds... and I this post is a random group of thoughts. But hey, that's a real literary style. So I can get away with it.

I'm trying to finish my white and black skirt (white skirt, black lace) tonight so I can have an excuse to wear my new boots :3 But if not, I think I'll have to wear my Baby skirt again. Not a problem, since I didn't really get any pics of it at the last meet. If I do I think I might try to get away with wearing my white shoes with my cream outfit though... XD We'll see if it works. Anyone think it would be ok?

Not sure what I'll take to eat yet, but I'll figure something out. Something yummy I hope! Maybe some juice (Or maybe flavored water? Lol Since we don't want any nasty stains D: )

I've been having a really rough week.

Tonight I realized something, and decided that I can't take care of all these things myself. Sometimes, we have to know when to hand it over to God and let Him take care of the things that seem to big or when we just don't know what to do anymore. He doesn't give us more than we can handle, but He he never gives us so much that we cannot say "Lord, I put this in your hands."

Sometimes, that's the only remedy. He has never failed me. So again, I will trust Him.

This equals extremely less complicated and fearful ordering. Weeeeeeeeee *______* Yay. And "Baby, The Stars Shine Bright"will soon open their own.

So I went to check my mail today :3 and happyness came out of the cold, metal mailbox XD Right there when I opened it I saw an orange package. When I opened it, I found a sweet card and a cute, little stuffed turtle from Will! MWAHAHAHAHAHA XD My Leon sent meh a gift! He's seriously more sentimental than I am, and he said he took that into consideration when buying me a gift. So obviously I'm into lolita, and that's girly, yes... but I don't like mushy crap. Even this post is about as far as I'll go into "mushy." So yeah, considering that he didn't get me anything too mush-mushl, but got me a Turtle xD

Soooooo I'm excited that I'll be getting a pair of boots I ordered soon! I expect them like...Sat-Tues? Yeah. :3 I ordered them from someone here on LJ, and she was super nice to take care with how they were packaged. Not only that, but I took place in a Bodyline group order (or will be - the group leader is ordering soon). I'm ordering two Blouses and a JSK (jumper skirt). I've read reviews on both of the items I'm getting so I assume they'll be good. :3 I can't wait!

Soooo now I'm gonna type up an outline for Acting Class and go to sleep.

I'm not sure what to post, but I feel my last few posts where kind of blah. But maybe that's because I haven't had too much to say.

Hmm... but I do want pink hair again :/ and I need to get my bangs cut. ALLEH. HELP XD

I finished my first mock up shirt for the first production this semester, but it was an "easy" pattern and took me long enough... but, I'm learning more and more every day I'm in the costume shop, so I hope and expect to learn more! It's intimidating to be there sewing right in front of my professor and more experienced students though. The other day, I had trouble with one of the older machines (not used to it because it's so different than mine) and I thoroughly embarrassed myself in front of those in the room. To me, it was a rather legit question, but since I'm *always* asking even the most simple questions... the girls in the room, and one in particular who looked at me with a face that said "You're kidding, right...?" -_- UGH RAWR. But I realize we all have to start somewhere, and whether or not I've been sewing since I was 13 has no matter, since I never learned all the technical terms and most efficient of ways.

I'm glad I'm on running crew for the show though -_-; construction hours in additon with my 1111 class shop work ours would be far too much for me right now. And my professor asked me the other day "Are you still happy you made this choice?" as in, the choice to major in Costume design after two years in a teaching program (my teaching classes hadn't started yet, so I just worked on all my needed classes for any degree and for my Biblical studies degree)... and that shocked me. I told him "Yes, I'm very happy!" but I wonder if he asked me because he thinks I cannot do it? Am I too pessimistic in thinking about this? I want to do this.

And so, on to a less emotional topic ... but still speaking of costumes, AUSA.

For Ally, I plan on cosplaying Penelo (RW). And I plan on bringing a self designed Vampire dress for the Kabuki Ball. Will plans to wear an appropriate outfit of Weskers, so I'm excited about that.

I'm also excited about getting to do Xianghua Chai for Katsu, and Molly Hayes (Runaways) sometime, too :3

Any Lolita-chan plan for AUSA? I'd love to hang out for a little bit and maybe get some photos together <3

Well, it has been a a few weeks since I posted.

Since then...

Otakon went great. It's such a big con though @_@ This year was the first time I've been since 2003 and wow >> One of the *major* downsides for me (as I've heard it was for other people as well) were the locals @_@; I wasn't even wearing anything skimpy and people would announce rude things here and there along the street... not to mention people kept trying to either scam Ally and I or just say crude stuff.

Other than that, Will/Archelon and I decided to make things official. So for all the people who freaked out when they saw my relationship status changed on whatever networking site of their choice ... xD That's why.

And I did get my new apartment! I love it! Minus the bugs and ginormous spider.... and the fact that it takes about 10 minutes to get any hot water >>;

XD It seems like I've given the pros and cons of *almost* everything in this small post.

and now I'm too sleepy to type more :/

Okay :3 So I put the down payment on my new place. For those of you that know Tabbiie, she and I are getting the apartment together since she just got back from a year in Arjentina and I live nowhere near the school(at least not within driving distance). Soooo yeah, that's good news.

Other than that, Ally and I are leaving for Otakon tomorrow. KURTSOREOTRUFFLESHECKYES. I'm still cosplaying Yukari Takeba (Persona 3) but I had to throw out the idea of Euphie (even though the I already styled the wig Ally let me borrow) because of money issues. The replacement costume is one I've had in my room for a while now, but never put on xD Hint: Jewels?

So artist Alley for AnimeUSA is already sold out D: Sad, but it's a fact. I checked the Katsucon website and didn't see anything about artist alley yet, but I'm going to be checking just about every day to make sure I get a table there (I keep missing the info and then discovering each con is sold out of tables).

This time around I want to sell Lolita inspired items (what a suprise?). I'd love to have some pillow cases with various designs, and perhaps a few shirts. I was a bit shocked to see that the cupcake and sweets jewelry is becoming popular here in America too (it was all over Tokyo, but usually it takes a couple months to hit the states...). I thought the pillow cases would be a little something different... and if I'm able to invest in it, I may try to draw a print specifically for a duvet cover (and make the cover myself) and stick it in the art auction (because that would be a lot of work :/ ). Here are the items I'm considering:

Lolita Teddies/Bunnies (boy and girl + outfits and hats)
Pillow Cases
Picture Frames
Print T's
Artwork (Watercolors, sketches and photoshop)
Duvet (though I may only make one this time, just to see how it goes).

If anyone has ideas, I'd be happy to listen. I feel like being more creative than usual.

Other than that, I'm supposed to go see the Dark Knight with my grandpa :3 I hope he still feels up to it because I haven't been able to see a movie with him in a long time! And the Dark Knight, of all movies! Yeah!

Ooo... and I'm back to RO now. I played only a handful of time while I was in Japan because I was just too busy :/ but now I have some time.

So some of you know that my kitty was sick... I left the Lolita meet-up rather early yesterday to come home and tend to him. I don't want to go into details or anything, but we thought he was going to pass away very soon. We finally found a way to afford taking him to the doctor and they told us it was an inner ear infection and that he wasn't on his death bed. I woke up this morning and looked over at his box beside my bed. He passed during the night. We called them again this morning and told them, they now confirm it was a brain tumor. :/ I love my Kitty China. And many of you know I'm always joking about his fat butt and knocking him off my computer (with love, of course!) .. >< I'm going to miss him ~ He's been my buddy since 5th or 6th grade (in my third year of college now).

I have a presentation to give to the church tonight, and I'm working on costumes too. I found that the boots and covers I made for Hachi (Nana) work perfectly for Yukari Takeba's (P3) winter outfit. I had faux fur (doesn't really look like fur xD more like fuzz) left over from my gunslinger outfit, too. Since Yukari has it on her boots and top, I can use that. I just hope these two costumes work out (Euphemia and Yukari) because my budget is a lot lower now :/ I have to pay my grandfather back for the $150 vet bill from last night....

I did have fun at the Lolita meet up though! Oh, I so hope to see all those girls again. >< I loved it! Please say hello if any of you guys are going to Otakon.

I'm definitely inspired to go make something Lolita at this moment, but I have other things to do -_- not to mention I keep wanting to buy everything I see people post on the EGL community sales. I'm trying to put things together for a Lolita meet up in town this weekend. I'm super excited because it will be my first "real" meet-up (I'll get to premier my latest finds! Yay!). I didn't mean for things to turn out this way, but it seems that although I seek after more than just this, I always end up owning or wearing Shiro Lolita items. I thought I'd go for more color this time but... now it's all cream! My outfit started by coming across an adorable cream skirt in Harajuku's Closet Child. At first I thought I had run across a Classic brands item, but alas, I was only on the middle floor! (above the Viviene Westwood and punk/goth level and below the more Classic and subdued third level). I was shocked to discover I had picked up something from Baby! O-o!

A few weeks later I went back to their Harajuku shop again in search of some socks or stockings. I had been beating myself up for not purchasing a pair of adorable socks I had found in their Yokohama shop.. but I had absolutely no time to travel out there all the way from Shibuya. After only a moment, Megan happily pointed out some nice tall cream socks/stockings. XD Mwhahahaha I was a happy camper.

So tonight I'm trying to decide what kind of lace (and where) to put onto my cream top. I definitely don't want to over do it, but I also have a habit of not doing enough.

I thought my black Maries would work, but no luck. >> They just look awkward.


All together, I can't believe I found everything for the prices I did. I'm kind of kicking myself in the butt for not picking up a parasol that I saw... I didn't want to worry about taking it back home (to the states). But I can't seem to find any decent ones here. D: I'm bummed.

But now my budget is knee high to a grasshopper, so I'm pinching corners where I can in order to try and make it to Otakon in time; however, this is getting much more difficult because I'll soon have to pay for my first months rents on a new apartment, security deposit, lights, food, etc.... GAS. GAH. >> Though I'm not sure which I like better: ~ paying for the JR line umpteen times a day or 4 bucks for gas every few days.

Oh well, in any case. God tells us to be thankful in all circumstances ( 1 Thessalonians 5:18 ). So, thank you Lord Jesus that gas prices aren't $10 a gallon >< (yet? Oh my... D: ).

I'm especially in search of cream/white boots that lace up. Cork bottoms would be wonderful; however, I am open to any style ~Rocking horse, boots or regular Mary Janes. Brand or non-brand (Montreal?). No open toe sandals though, please.

For anyone wondering, I'm leaving the US tomorrow morning. My first flight leaving at 6 something A.M. May 28th and I'll be getting back August 6th. The nervousness has finally settled in. I ask for your prayers and thoughts as I travel because even though I've been there before, last time I didn't actually "live" there (I stayed in hostel for about a month. This time I have an apartment).

Anyway, enough of that if you didn't already know. I'm so freaking excited about the possibility of going to a Steam meet-up when I get back!! AUGH! I wanna go so bad! Haha. Cool people at the Steampunk panel at AZ this year said that there would be one in Georgia sometime this fall. ;_; Wannnaaa gooooo. But I've got my steam personalities outfit in the works atm. Gotta figure out how to make some things work but.... XD It'll work out!
